Dr. Patrick Shallow

He co-manages the day-to-day operations of the company, and also heads up the consulting, and research & development activities.

A former international senior banker with a wide range of experience in Banking Finance and Mortgages, gained with Standard Bank in South Africa, Bank of Ireland in Dublin and in London. Patrick Shallow founded the Banking and treasury consultancy, Finalysis in 1990 (www.finalysis.ie ). Prior to this, he was Managing Director of the Metropolitan Building Society and before that was Deputy MD of the retail lender, Chartered Trust, the Finance arm of Standard Bank

In 1990 Patrick identified a gap in the market for independent banking and treasury advice to corporates, where, based on his banking experience and use of analytics software, important operating efficiencies and very considerable cost savings could be achieved. Based on the success of the Irish Finalysis operation, Patrick established Finalysis UK to address the international market.

Patrick holds a B.Comm. Degree (Law and Economics) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg; a M.Sc. from TCD, Dublin and a PhD in Banking from the Smurfit Business School, Dublin. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers of South Africa and has presented regularly on Banking and on Credit Risk.

In 2002, based on his PhD research, Patrick founded Credit Expo for banks and credit unions, measuring and managing credit risk in retail lending. The software product, ECM Analytics, has been patented, is end to end operationally, viz. from new business loan pricing to performance management, to compliance reporting, to portfolio valuation.
